Annette Bevan

With over 30 years experience of working in primary schools in London and Kent, Annette joined The Stour Academy Trust in 2014 as Headteacher of Adisham Church of England Primary school. Leading the school through a successful SIAMS and laying the foundations for Adisham’s future outstanding Ofsted inspection, Annette has consistently demonstrated the ability to turn around underperforming schools.

As Head of Lansdowne Primary in Sittingbourne, Annette was key in the transformation of the school, resulting in an Ofsted judgment of Good with outstanding for Leadership and Early years. At Thistle Hill Academy, Annette built a strong leadership team and brought about rapid improvements to the school which the Trust now considers as Good.

In September 2021, Annette was appointed as a School Improvement Partner. Providing both support and challenge, Annette works with Headteachers to assess current school performance and assists them in identifying areas of strength and areas for further improvement.

Annette has been the lead for Early Years since joining the Trust, and has ensured that exemplary practice is consistent across our schools. This has been reflected by many Ofsted inspections where there have been Good and Outstanding outcomes for Early years. Annette is very passionate about securing the early foundations for children and continues to develop the early years curriculum so that all children have the best possible start to their early education and are successful in their future learning.
