Richmond Primary School, formerly known as Richmond Academy, is stepping into a new era with a fresh name, logo, and uniform, emphasising a deep commitment to its community and children’s development.

The new logo features two swans on the canal, a nod to the picturesque local wildlife that is right on the doorstep of the school. Accompanying this visual update is the school’s new jade green uniform, radiating a fresh sense of pride and belonging. To commemorate this change, The Stour Academy Trust provided each child with a new sweatshirt or cardigan free of charge.

Richmond Primary School pupils proudly wore their new uniform at a workshop at 10 Downing Street with Akshata Murty, wife of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
The school’s evolution isn’t just about aesthetics. At its core, Richmond Primary is strengthening its commitment to excellence, as encapsulated in its new acronym HEART, representing Happiness, Engagement, Ambition, Respect, and Togetherness.
Headteacher Lesley Conway summarised the school values: “At its essence, our values emphasise the emotional well-being and happiness of our children, staff, and parents. They advocate for an engaging learning environment that stimulates curiosity and a drive for knowledge. We have high expectations and aspirations for all pupils, promoting ambition and resilience. Respect is of paramount importance to us, with a focus on valuing diversity and teaching empathy. Finally, we foster a sense of community and unity, where we encourage collaboration and mutual support among all members of the school and the wider community.”
