Although current restrictions have delayed the planned opening celebrations, the children’s enthusiasm for their new state of the art school couldn’t be higher.

The new extension enables Finberry to double in size over the coming years. The school’s current maximum capacity of children will increase to 420, turning Finberry Primary School into a large two form entry school with 60 spaces in every year group from Reception to Year 6.

Headteacher Ms Stella Scharinger was thrilled with the results “We are absolutely over the moon with the completion of the second phase of our school. Baxall Construction have been excellent at meeting the needs of the school during the build and it is just a shame we cannot show our parents in person how impressive our new classrooms and learning spaces are. We are however very much looking forward to being able to offer even more places to the children in our local community.”

The new build has allowed Early Birds Nursery, the on-site School Nursery, to move into a larger purpose built environment. Early Birds is a school nursery for 2, 3 and 4 year old’s led by a qualified Teacher and offers three attendance options across the 5-day week. Currently over subscribed, Early Birds Nursery is operating a waiting list for children wanting to join. Find out more at www.earlybirdsnurseryatfinberry.co.uk
