Did you hear the one about the pupils from Finberry Primary School who took part in a national joke competition to celebrate the fun and importance of communication?
Throughout November the pupils will be parting part in Voice Box, a national initiative for mainstream and special primary schools which reminds people that all children need support to build their communication skills and confidence and that some need additional specialist help to speak and/or understand what is being said to them. The competition is run by the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
Ms Schâringer, Headteacher, says “This is a fantastic way to raise awareness about how supporting children and young people with their communication needs can enable them to engage fully at school with friends and play an active role in society. We really look forward to hearing the children’s jokes and I cannot wait to be on the judging panel!”
Finberry Primary School’s second phase of their state of the art building is due to be completed for September 2020. With now 60 EYFS places available, why not go along to the school’s open evening on Thursday 7th November, 6pm.
